Head Chef/Kitchen Manager

OVERVIEW

Incredibowl Entertainment is seeking an experienced Head Chef/Kitchen Manager who is ready to lead the Food Service team and operations in our anticipated high-volume restaurant in Toledo, OH.

Our kitchen crew will be cross trained to cashier, portion/prep, cook, wash dishes, etc. As the Kitchen Manager, you will participate in each of these tasks, oversee and hold your team accountable, and perform managerial duties as defined below.

As the Head Chef, you will contribute your passion for cooking to enhance and evolve our menu as well as create/plan banquet and special event menus.

This is a hands-on position, meaning your primary role will be working alongside your team in the kitchen. The kitchen is where you will be expected to spend the majority of your time. Your administrative managerial duties will include placing weekly food orders, taking monthly inventory, reviewing applications, interviewing potential candidates, and completing performance evaluations on team members.

COOK AND CREATE

  • Work with your team in the kitchen to prepare food orders.
  • Continually look for new methods and ideas that would improve our current recipes and processes.
  • Plan menus for banquets, special events, etc.

PREPARE TO PARTY

  • Work with the Management and Event teams to prepare for all events, supervise the preparation and service of all food (in addition to cleanup), and assist the team with kitchen duties.

PLAN LIKE A PRO

  • Estimate food consumption and make purchases as appropriate.
  • Schedule staff efficiently to accommodate shifts in business volume.

HAVE A DREAM TEAM

  • Work with the center’s management to recruit, hire, train, and retain a solid team.
  • Ensure that all employees are in adherence with our uniform and food safety standards (i.e. wearing gloves, hairnets, name tag, uniform shirt, etc.).
  • Provide training and coaching to kitchen team members.
  • Confer with management in administering disciplinary proceedings when appropriate.
  • Oversee and manage performance of kitchen team and complete performance evaluations.

DEDICATION TO QUALITY

  • Ensure that our product quality, freshness, and presentation are always to the company’s standards.
  • Supervise and oversee the preparation, portioning, plating, and storage of all food.

KEEP IT CLEAN

  • Facilitate and manage all kitchen equipment maintenance and implement/conduct sanitation audits and cleaning schedules to comply with all local Department of Health (DOH) regulations.
  • Assist team with washing equipment, dishes, etc.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in the restaurant/food and beverage industry required
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a line cook
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a management position, preferably in the restaurant/food and beverage industry
  • Strong customer service, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from our location in Toledo, OH.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • ServSafe Manager, Food Safety Manager, or equivalent certified or able to complete certification within 30 days of hire

PREFERRED SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in managing costs and labor
  • Hospitality experience
  • Food Safety Manager Certification
  • Already living in Toledo, OH, or surrounding area
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
